Standard Life Investments Grows Japan Team

Standard Life Investments, the global asset manager, today announces that Mitsuo Ohara has been appointed as the Head of Institutional Sales – Japan, based in Tokyo.
In this newly created role, Mitsuo is responsible for developing and broadening key relationships across the financial institutions, pensions and consultant segments in Japan for Standard Life Investments. Mitsuo reports to Neil Slater, CEO and Representative Director of Standard Life Investments in Japan.
Mitsuo brings more than 30 years of experience in asset management and banking to the currently 11-strong Japan team, with a track record of institutional business development and client servicing in Japan. Prior to joining Standard Life Investments, he was the Head of Sales and Client Services with Northern Trust Global Investment in Japan.
Standard Life Investments is strongly committed to developing a long-term business in Japan. Mitsuo’s appointment follows the recent opening of a Japan office after the company received an Investment Advisory & Agency License from the Financial Services Agency in the country.
