Aberdeen Standard Investments appoints Head of Hong Kong

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) announces the appointment of David Lam as Head of Hong Kong. David will be responsible for managing the Hong Kong team and driving a long-term growth strategy for the business.
David will oversee the planning and development of the Hong Kong business, ensuring it is aligned with the strategic objectives for the Asia Pacific region. He will also support relationships with key investors and distributors. He will report to Ian Macdonald, Deputy Head of Asia Pacific for ASI.
David brings a wealth of knowledge and more than thirty years of experience in asset management and private wealth management. He was most recently Chairman of the Advisory Board at Carret Private Investments. His previous roles include Managing Director and Head of North Asia for Coutts, Managing Director – Asia Pacific for GAM and Director of Private Wealth Services – Asia Pacific for Merrill Lynch.

ASI’s Hong Kong team is 60-strong, with on-the-ground investment teams managing regional portfolios across different asset classes, including China equities, multi-asset, private equity and emerging market debt. The team is dedicated to growing the business across the institutional, private banking and retail channels, and strengthening the offerings of specialist solutions and products to meet the evolving needs of investors.
