Standard Life Investments to expand overseas property business

27 February 2007

Standard Life Investments, the global fund manager, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Harry Humble as Investment Director, Property Product Specialist. Harry has previously worked for Aareal Asset Management in the Netherlands as Director of Institutional Business.

Reporting to Louise Kay, Investment Director, UK Direct Sales, Harry will have specific responsibility for taking the lead on the development of overseas property funds and supporting the sales effort in Europe and North America.

Standard Life Investments recently established an office in Toronto managing property assets ranging from Vancouver to Montreal. In August 2006, CJ Asset Management appointed Standard Life Investments as investment manager for its global real estate fund, the CJ Standard Life Investments Global Property Fund, which is the first fund of its kind to be marketed to Korean investors.

Commenting on the appointment, Louise Kay said:

"There is growing demand in the institutional marketplace for greater global diversification and specialism in property mandates. With 11 years experience working in real estate, Harry brings a wealth of overseas expertise to the business. He will work closely with our property team and UK property specialist, Mark Meiklejon, in developing products and relationships.

"There is a great deal of global expertise here at Standard Life Investments and our current client base already extends across many borders. As one of the largest and most established property managers in Europe, Harry's appointment will help us bring solutions to other markets which will satisfy the continuing demand from investors for property."
