Meet the members of our Board of Directors.

Keith Skeoch

Keith Skeoch

CEO

Keith has been our Chief Executive since 2004 and a Director since joining Standard Life Investments in 1999 as our Chief Investment Officer. He has also been on the Board of Standard Life plc since 2006.

Prior to that, from 1980 to 1999, Keith was with James Capel (HSBS Securities from 1996) where his previous roles included; 1998 Managing Director of International Equities, 1993 Director of Economics and Strategy, 1984 Chief Economist and in 1980 International Economist. Keith started his career in 1979 at the Government Economic Service.

Keith has held a number key industry appointments and responsibilities. He currently sits on the FRC Advisory panel looking into lessons to be learned from the credit crisis and recently (Aug 2010) stepped down as Chairman of ABI Investment Committee having completed three years in office.

Immediately prior to this Keith contributed to the industry through a number of channels including; (2009) HM Treasury Wholesale Markets Forum, (2007) Director Association of British Insurers, Director Investment Management Association, Chairman IMA Asset Management Committee and the Chancellor’s Working Group on Rights Issues, and (2006) FSA Senior Practitioner Panel.

 
William Littleboy

William Littleboy

Chief Risk Officer

William joined us in 2001 from Pareto Partners (a specialist quantitative asset manager) in London where he was Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, he'd been with Citibank since 1982, initially joining in London before going on to lead its business with the investment management industry in the UK and Europe. In 1991 he was appointed Citibank's Regional Manager for Scotland & North Britain. He then moved to Frankfurt in 1994 where he was first appointed Regional Business Manager and subsequently Chief Operating Officer. William holds an MA Mathematics from St. John's College Cambridge. William was appointed Chief Risk Officer for Standard Life Investments in 2010.

 
David Cumming

David Cumming

Head of Equities

David began his career with Royal London Mutual before moving on to hold positions with Edinburgh Fund Managers, Manufacturers Life Insurance and Morgan Grenfell, where he was a Director. He joined us in 1998 as Investment Director responsible for corporate pooled pension funds, our UK equity portfolio and a number of segregated clients. Following his appointment as Head of UK Equities in March 2000, David continues to manage pooled and segregated UK equity fund portfolios as well as managing the UK equity investments for Standard Life's main UK Life Fund.

David was appointed to our Board as Executive Director in June 2004. He holds an MA (Hons) degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Edinburgh and is an Associate of the Society of Investment Analysts.

 
Rod Paris

Rod Paris

Head of Investments

Rod started his career with us as Head of Global Fixed Income in May 2002 and was appointed to our Board of Directors in June 2004. He was previously Managing Director and Head of the Global Fixed Income team at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Prior to that, Rod was a director of Mercury Asset Management, and also worked with Warburg Asset Management and Chase Manhattan Bank. He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Keble College Oxford.

 
Colin Walklin

Colin Walklin

Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director

Colin started his career in 1975 as an auditor with Arthur Andersen before joining UK stockbroker Sheppards and Chase as Corporate Finance Manager in 1981. He then moved to Switzerland in 1982 to take up the position of Business Planning Manager with Philip Morris. In 1985 he joined Deloitte as a Management Consultant (Financial Services sector) and during his time there, was seconded to the Bank of England for two years. Colin joined Standard Chartered in 1992 and was appointed Group Head of Finance in 1999. In 2002, he moved to Barclays, initially as Group Financial Controller and, in 2005, was appointed CFO of Barclaycard. Finally, he joined our company in 2007. Colin has a BSc in Engineering, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Panel Member on the Financial Reporting Review Panel (part of the FRC).

 
Colin Clark

Colin Clark

Director, Global Client Group

Colin began his career as a Graduate Trainee with SG Warburg & Co in 1980. In 1983 he joined Mercury Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager responsible for UK equity research and for the management of UK equity portfolios. In 1987 Colin moved to New York as Head of Sales and Client Service, before returning to London in 1989 as Head of Marketing. In 1996 he was appointed Head of Global Sales and Marketing and was a member of a senior management team involved in the negotiation of the acquisition of Mercury Asset Management by Merrill Lynch in November 1997. In 1999 he was appointed Head of Global Marketing at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Colin was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Standard Life Investments in December 2004 and appointed to our Board as Executive Director in March 2010. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Colin holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from University College Oxford.

 
Roger Renaud

Roger Renaud

President, Standard Life Investments Inc. (Canada)

Roger began his financial career as an actuarial assistant with Sun Life of Canada in 1982. After lecturing on the Montreal Stock Exchange for ten years, he joined Scotia McLeod as an Investment Executive. In 1989, Roger joined First Marathon as Vice President, before joining Standard Life Investments Inc. in 1991. In 1995, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, before taking on his current position as President at the close of 2005.

 
Euan Munro

Euan Munro

Head of Multi-Asset Investing and Fixed Income

Euan began his career with Scottish Provident in 1992 as an Actuarial student and was placed in the Investment Department as a bond analyst. Two years later he was appointed Investment Manager responsible for Irish fixed interest and cash investments. 1995 saw Euan join Standard Life as a fixed interest Investment Manager with a particular specialism in index-linked investments and interest rate derivatives. On the bond team he ultimately ran all Standard Life Investments segregated bond funds and in 2001 was promoted to manage all the assets of the Standard Life Assurance Company. In September 2004 he established the Strategic Solutions Unit which became Multi-asset Investing Team and in June 2008 he was appointed Head of Global Fixed Income in addition to Head of Multi-asset Investing, and is a member of the Standard Life Investments Board.

 
Stephen Acheson

Stephen Acheson

Director of Standard Life Account Management

Stephen started with Standard Life in 1982 as an actuarial trainee, qualifying in 1988. After joining the Investment operation as an analyst in 1987, he held a variety of investment management posts over the next 8 years ultimately serving as head of the Japanese equity desk. In 1995 he assumed control of the Corporate Pooled Pension fund business and in 1999 his responsibilities were widened to include the Segregated Funds and the UK Life Fund. In 2001 he added responsibility for the Retail Pooled Pension funds and in 2003 the remaining parts of the UK business i.e. the Net Unit Linked funds and the Mutual funds were incorporated into one overall UK operation which he then ran. In 2007 Stephen assumed the role of Head of Global Client Services & Business Management a function which combined many of the sales and service functions of the UK and overseas operations. During 2008/9 he took on a number of senior responsibilities within the wider SL group including positions on the boards of Heng An Standard Life and Standard Life Asia as well as beginning service as a trustee to the SL Staff Pension fund. In 2010, following an internal re-organisation designed to support the global development of the business, he assumed his current role taking overall responsibility for the provision of investment management services and support to the wider global Standard Life group.

 
Mike Tumilty

Mike Tumilty

Director of Operations

Mike joined Standard Life as a graduate trainee in 1994 and spent two years in various different parts of the Life and Pensions Company gaining a good understanding of all aspects of the business. After this Mike moved into the Mutual Funds arena and spent time between 1996 and 1998 as a Business Consultant with responsibility for the Unit Trusts to OEICS Conversion Programme. In 1998 Mike was appointed Head of Mutual Funds Operations with responsibility for all aspects of Mutual Funds Administration. At the end of 2001 Mike was appointed Head of Change Management for Standard Life Investments. During his 4 years as Head of Change Management he was responsible for a number of major strategic change programmes including the implementation of a Global Trade Order Management system, the outsource of the Investment Administration function to CitiGroup and the outsource of the Mutual Funds Transfer Agency function to BNYM. In October 2005 Mike took up his current position of Head of Investment Operations where a key responsibility is the continued evolution and management of the SLI Operating Model. In August 2010 Mike was appointed to the Board as Executive Director of Operations.

 
Joanne Bradley

Joanne Bradley

Head of Global Communications

Joanne has been our Head of Global Communications since joining us in 2001. In 2011 she was appointed to Standard Life Investments Ltd Board.

From 1991 to 2001, Joanne held various roles at Lloyds TSB Scotland including (1996) Chief Press Officer. Previously an international and corporate banking career spanning 20 years included responsibility for cross border payments, correspondent banking in the US and Europe, and treasury functions. Joanne started her career with Royal Bank of Scotland in retail and international banking roles until 1991.

Joanne has also held a number of key advisory roles in her career. (2004) Campaign Manager for Standard Life demutualisation 'yes' vote, (1993) Various working parties in Europe on Single Currency Task Force (1991) European Monetary Union UK representative in Brussels.
